The disc release is a month behind digital
The digital version launched September 8, 2026, but physical editions do not arrive until October 6, 2026. If you want a disc, that four-week gap is the trade-off.
Physical editions are PS5 and Xbox Series X only. There is no physical PC release, so Steam and Epic remain the PC routes.
The official announcement confirms the game content is included on the disc rather than being a download key in a box.
What the $39.99 physical Standard includes
The physical Standard matches the digital base price at $39.99 and comes with the game on disc plus a set of retail bonuses.
Those bonuses are the Michael Myers Clown skin with Advance Access, two civilian cosmetics also with Advance Access, and an exclusive 11x17 Halloween: The Game poster.
Note the wording: Advance Access on cosmetics means early unlock, not permanent exclusivity. Cosmetics can also be earned through in-game challenges.
The $149.99 Collector's Edition
The limited Collector's Edition contains everything in the physical Standard and adds the Michael Myers Samhain skin with Advance Access, two more civilian cosmetics, a Shape Jump variant action figure and exclusive lenticular art, plus what the official post describes as more surprises.
It is explicitly limited in quantity, which is the practical argument for pre-ordering rather than waiting for a discount.
At $149.99 the premium over Standard is $110, and the bulk of that value is physical collectibles rather than in-game content.

Digital versus physical, side by side
Digital wins on timing and on the head start: it was playable from September 8, and the Digital Deluxe unlocked four days earlier still, on September 4.
Physical wins on collectibles: the poster, the action figure and the lenticular art have no digital equivalent, and a disc can be resold or lent.
One skin does not cross over. The Phantom Michael Myers skin is exclusive to digital pre-orders and is not included with any physical edition — worth knowing before choosing a format for skin reasons.
Practical buying notes
Amazon lists both SKUs separately, so check you are on the right listing — the Collector's Edition and the Standard have different product pages for the same platform.
Prices and stock on retail listings move independently of the publisher's official pricing, so treat $39.99 and $149.99 as the reference figures rather than a guarantee of what you will pay.
Whichever edition you choose, the underlying game is identical: the same campaign, the same four maps and the same ten base civilians.
Comparing the bonus packages
Digital and physical bonuses are deliberately different, so neither is strictly better. The digital Deluxe carried the Inmate and Phantom Michael Myers skins, the Richard and Alexis civilians, a Laurie Strode cosmetic and a digital comic.
Physical bonuses skew toward objects: the 11x17 poster on every copy, and on the Collector's Edition a Shape Jump variant action figure and exclusive lenticular art.
The overlap is cosmetics with Advance Access — the Clown skin on all physical copies and the Samhain skin on the Collector's Edition — which unlock early rather than being permanently exclusive.
Is the physical edition worth waiting for?
For most players, no. Waiting four weeks past the digital launch means missing the busiest matchmaking period, when the population peaked at 33,639 Steam concurrents and 500,000+ players across platforms.
The physical case is strongest for collectors and for anyone who wants resale or lending value, since the game content is on the disc rather than being a download code.
At $149.99 the Collector's Edition is a $110 premium over Standard, and almost all of that value is physical goods rather than anything that affects play.
Before you place an order
Check which platform the listing covers. Physical editions exist for PS5 and Xbox Series X only — there is no PC disc, so PC buyers use Steam or the Epic Games Store.

The game itself is identical to the digital version: the six-chapter single-player campaign The Night He Came Home, 1v4 multiplayer across four Haddonfield maps, and the ten base playable civilians.
Cosmetic bonuses attached to physical editions are delivered as Advance Access unlocks rather than as disc content, so they still tie to the platform account you redeem them on.
Retail pricing versus official pricing
The publisher's stated prices are $39.99 for the physical Standard and $149.99 for the limited Collector's Edition. Retailer listings move independently of those figures, so what you pay may differ in either direction.
Because the Collector's Edition is explicitly limited in quantity, it is the SKU where waiting for a discount carries real risk of the listing selling out instead.
The Standard physical edition has no such scarcity, so there is no urgency premium attached to ordering it early beyond securing the poster and Advance Access cosmetics.
Choosing a platform for a physical copy
